Merge Duplicates Praxis Desk

When a patient or customer has been created twice, use this page to merge the two records. You choose which value to keep for each field.

Requirements

  • You are logged in with the Merge customers permission.

How to do it

  1. Open the Customer list.
  2. Click the Actions menu (three dots) on the original record.
  3. Select Merge duplicate.
  4. Search for and select the duplicate record.
  5. The merge page opens with three columns:
    • Original – Values from the first record
    • Duplicate – Values from the second record
    • Result – The values that will be kept after merging
  6. Click the desired value (original or duplicate) for each field to copy it into the result.
  7. Click Merge to complete the process.

What happens during a merge?

  • All linked data (appointments, invoices, forms, documents) from the duplicate is transferred to the target record.
  • The duplicate record is then deleted.
  • The process is logged in the history.

Note: A merge cannot be undone.
