Capture Values Praxis Desk

Enter values for custom fields directly on the record.

Where do I find a record's values?

Values are attached to the record's master data, not to the patient record's history.

  1. Open the record in the patient / customer list.
  2. Click the actions menu (arrow next to Select room) in the top right.
  3. Select Edit patient.
Fig. 1The record's actions menu takes you to the edit dialog.
  1. In the Edit patient dialog, switch to the Values tab.

The tab lists every configured value type as its own block with the values already captured.

Requirements

  • At least one value type is configured. Without value types, the Values tab is empty, see Manage field types.

Capturing a value

  1. In the block for the value type you want, click + Create new value.
  2. Enter the value. The date defaults to today.
Fig. 2The creation dialog carries the value type's name in its title.
  1. Click Save.
  2. Also click Save in the Edit patient dialog.

Capturing a BMI value

For the BMI type, you don't enter the BMI itself — you enter Height and Weight. offisy calculates the BMI from those and shows it in the locked BMI field, in kg/m².

Fig. 3168 cm and 72 kg result in a BMI of 25.5 kg/m².

The value then appears in the block together with the figures it was calculated from, e.g. 25.5 kg/m² (168 cm / 72 kg).

Note: You don't need a separate value type for height. The BMI dialog asks for both figures itself.

Capturing a WHR or WHtR value

The types WHR (Taille/Hüfte) and WHtR (Taille/Größe) work like BMI: you enter the measurements in cm, and offisy calculates the ratio.

  • WHR: the fields Taille (waist) and Hüfte (hip). The ratio waist ÷ hip appears in the locked field Taille/Hüfte (WHR).
  • WHtR: the fields Taille (waist) and Körpergröße (height). The ratio waist ÷ height appears in the locked field Taille/Körpergröße (WHtR).

The ratio is calculated to 2 decimal places. If a measurement is missing, Keine Angabe (no value) is shown.

The history shows the value together with the figures it was calculated from, e.g. 0,85 (Taille 90 cm / Hüfte 106 cm) or 0,52 (Taille 90 cm / Größe 172 cm). In the value chart, you see the ratio over time.
