Calendar sidebar: quick search, filters, and quick selection Praxis Desk
The calendar sidebar brings together quick search, status filters, and column selection in one place. Use it to find appointments fast and control which practitioners or resources are shown.
How to
Use quick search
- Open the calendar and expand the sidebar.
- Click in the Search patient or service field.
- Enter the patient's name or the name of a service.
- Click a result in the suggestion list.
The calendar jumps automatically to the appointment that matches the result.
Filter by appointment status
The appointment status filter lets you show or hide appointments based on their current status.
- Find the Appointment status section in the sidebar.
- Enable or disable the statuses you want:
- Active — confirmed, ongoing appointments
- Requested — appointments not yet confirmed
- Rejected — appointments declined by the patient or the practice
- Cancelled — cancelled appointments
Disabled statuses no longer appear in the calendar.
Show or hide deleted entries
- Find the Show deleted entries option in the sidebar.
- Toggle it on to make deleted appointments visible.
- Toggle it off to hide them again.
Note: Deleted entries are shown in gray and can no longer be edited.
Customize column selection
The column selection determines which practitioners, resources, or locations appear as individual columns in the calendar.
- Find the Columns section in the sidebar.
- Check the boxes for the practitioners, resources, or locations you want to see.
- Uncheck the boxes for entries you want to hide.
The calendar column view updates immediately.
Apply a quick selection
With quick selection you can activate predefined groups with a single click instead of setting each column individually.
- Find the Quick selection section in the sidebar.
- Click a group:
- Team — all staff members at your location
- Cooperation — staff from a linked cooperation facility
- Custom groups you have created yourself
- The column selection switches to the members of that group.
Collapse and expand groups
If you have many groups in the sidebar, you can collapse individual sections.
- Click the arrow next to the group section you want to collapse.
- Click the arrow again to expand it.
Common issues
- No search results: Check the spelling. The search is limited to patients and services — staff members or resources are not included.
- Columns reset after reload: Your column selection is saved per device. If you switch browsers, you need to set the selection again.
- Quick selection group missing: You create custom groups directly in the calendar. The full steps are in the article Using the new calendar.
