Find Free Slots in the Calendar Praxis Desk

The slot finder searches a date range and highlights available time slots directly in the calendar. Use it to quickly find an opening that matches a service, practitioner, and resource.

Prerequisites

• You have the Manage appointments permission.

How to

1. Open the calendar.

2. Click Slot Finder in the sidebar.

3. Set your search criteria:

   • Service or duration: Either select a service from the list or enter a duration in minutes.
   • Practitioner (optional): Narrow the search to a specific practitioner.
   • Resource (optional): Narrow the search to a specific room or resource.

4. Choose a date range. You can enter a range manually or use a quick-select preset:

   • Tomorrow
   • This week
   • This month
   • Next month

   Note: The search is limited to a maximum of 3 months in the future.

5. Select a time-of-day filter:

   • All day – all free slots throughout the day
   • Morning – slots before 12:00 PM
   • Afternoon – slots from 12:00 PM onward

6. Click Search.

7. The calendar highlights all matching free time slots.

8. Click a highlighted slot to jump to that time and create an appointment there.

Common issues

Problem	Solution
No slots are displayed	Check that the selected date range falls within the next 3 months. Try reducing restrictions on practitioner or resource.
Slot Finder not visible	Expand the sidebar and make sure you have the Manage appointments permission.
