Send a Lab Request to a Device Praxis
Send a lab request from the customer record in Offisy in the browser to a connected device.
Requirements
- The Offisy Connect and Laboranfrage (GDT) (lab request) add-ons are included in your license.
- At least one device is connected to your company's Offisy Connect installation and isn't Offline.
- You have the Verbundene Geräte (connected devices) permission with Anzeigen (view).
- A lab device is set as Ziel für Laboranfragen (target for lab requests) in Offisy Connect.
- The GDT settings are set up — they determine the format and character set of the GDT file.
How to do it
Open the customer record of the customer you want to send the lab request for.
In the header of the record, click the laptop icon (tooltip An Offisy Connect senden (send to Offisy Connect)). Alternatively, choose An Offisy Connect senden in the record's action menu.
If several devices or several GDT file names are configured, the header shows a An Offisy Connect senden dropdown instead of the icon. Choose the device first, then the file name.

What happens next
Offisy generates the GDT file and creates a job. The feedback you see depends on the device's connection status:
- If the device is currently connected, Offisy shows "Die Laboranfrage wurde an <Gerätename> übergeben." (The lab request was handed off to <device name>.)
- If the device isn't connected (status Inaktiv, inactive), Offisy shows "<Gerätename> ist nicht verbunden. Die Laboranfrage wird bei der nächsten Verbindung übergeben." (<Device name> isn't connected. The lab request will be handed off on the next connection.) The job is created anyway.
Offisy Connect picks up the job on its next poll — 30 seconds by default — and writes the file to the lab device's export directory. The status briefly changes to an Gerät übergeben (sent to device) and then to Verarbeitet (processed) — the final status of a lab request.
A lab request doesn't get a direct answer from the device. The result arrives later as its own result, see Track Jobs and Results.
Common issues
- The action is missing in the customer record: Check these three causes:
- The Offisy Connect or Laboranfrage (GDT) add-on isn't active.
- You're missing the Verbundene Geräte permission with Anzeigen.
- No device is connected to your company.
- The connected device is offline: The An Offisy Connect senden action is disabled, so no job is created. The tooltip shows the status, for example "Offline, Senden nicht möglich" (Offline, sending not possible), and the device name appears in the menu with the suffix "(Offline)". At status Inaktiv, the action stays selectable instead — see What happens next.
- No lab device set as target: No lab device is selected under Ziel für Laboranfragen in Offisy Connect yet.
