Manage Connected Devices Praxis

This article covers the Offisy page in the browser — not the Offisy Connect desktop app. Here you see every Offisy Connect installation connected to your account and manage them.

Where do I find connected devices?

In Offisy, open Einstellungen → Schnittstellen → Verbundene Geräte (Settings → Interfaces → Connected Devices).

At the top of the page, the Neues Gerät verbinden (Connect new device) card summarizes the steps for connecting. Use Gerät verbinden (Connect device) to start the process, see Connect Offisy Connect to Offisy. You only see the button with the Verwalten permission.

Requirements

  • The Offisy Connect add-on is included in your license.
  • You have the Verbundene Geräte (Connected Devices) permission — Anzeigen (View) is enough to view the list, Verwalten (Manage) is needed for actions.

Data table

The list shows, for each connected device:

  • The device name with a status badge: Online, Inaktiv (Inactive), or Offline.
    • Online: The last check-in was roughly two minutes ago or less (at the default 30-second poll interval).
    • Inaktiv: The last check-in was longer ago, but within the last hour.
    • Offline: No check-in came in for over an hour, or none ever happened.
  • The reported operating system, if available.
  • App-Version (App version): the reported Offisy Connect version, if available.
  • Offene Aufträge (Open jobs): number of jobs that aren't finished yet.
  • Verbunden am (Connected on): date of the first connection, including who created it if known.
  • Zuletzt gesehen (Last seen): time of the last check-in, or "Noch nie" (Never).

A device counts as outdated once it hasn't checked in for at least 30 days, is at least 24 hours old, and hasn't already been disconnected. Outdated devices aren't marked separately in the list. You can spot them by the extra Entfernen (Remove) row action and by the fact that they're included in the Veraltete Geräte entfernen (Remove outdated devices) bulk action.

Row actions

Open the actions through the row menu on the right of a device's row.

Fig. 2The row menu of a device. Entfernen (Remove) only shows up for outdated devices.

Rename device

Give the device a new Gerätename (device name). The new name also shows up in Offisy Connect on the practice computer after its next check-in. The device configuration and the configured lab devices stay unchanged.

Disconnect device

Revokes this device's connection. The disconnected device then disappears from the list.

What happens on the next check-in depends on the computer's state when you disconnect it:

  • Offline for more than an hour: Offisy Connect discards only the credentials and returns to the connection state. The queue and results stay intact.
  • Online or offline for a shorter time: Offisy Connect also deletes this account's queue, including results not yet uploaded. It deletes the local cache too. Results not yet uploaded and open jobs on this device are lost permanently.

The Gerät trennen (Disconnect device) confirmation dialog warns that results not yet uploaded will be deleted. It also shows the number of open jobs that will be canceled.

Remove device

Permanently removes an outdated entry from the list. This action is only available for outdated devices. If the corresponding installation checks in again afterward, it has lost its access and needs to be connected again.

If the device has open jobs, the Gerät entfernen (Remove device) dialog shows their count.

Remove outdated devices

When outdated entries exist, Offisy shows the N veraltete Geräte entfernen (Remove N outdated devices) bulk action above the list. Clicking it opens a confirmation showing the number of affected entries; if any of the affected devices have open jobs, the confirmation also shows their total count. Confirming removes all outdated entries from the list at once.

Remove disconnected devices automatically

Offisy automatically disconnects devices that haven't checked in for 180 days. Offisy Connect has to be connected again afterward. Offisy deletes disconnected devices from the list after 90 days, and devices that never connected after 30 days.

Permissions

  • Anzeigen: view the list of connected devices.
  • Verwalten: connect, rename, disconnect, and remove devices. Verwalten includes Anzeigen.

You can only perform the actions if you are set up as an employee in the account. With access through a cooperation, you only see the list.
