Use Multiple Accounts Praxis

Connect multiple Offisy accounts to the same Offisy Connect installation on the practice computer.

Requirements

  • The Offisy Connect add-on.
  • Offisy Connect is installed and connected to at least one account — the Accounts page is only reachable after that.
  • For each additional account, someone with the Verbundene Geräte (Connected Devices) permission (Verwalten (Manage)) in that account needs to confirm the activation code.

How to do it

  1. Open the Accounts page in Offisy Connect.

  2. Click + Account verbinden (+ Connect account).

Fig. 1The Accounts page lists every account connected to this installation.
  3. Go through the connection process as described in Connect Offisy Connect to Offisy.

  4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for each additional account.

All connected accounts then appear together in the table on the Accounts page.

What's separate per account

Each account has its own:

  • Aufträge (Jobs)
  • Ergebnisse (Results)
  • Zugangsdaten (Login credentials)
  • Ziel für Laboranfragen (target for lab requests)

Sharing devices with accounts

Devices, on the other hand, belong to the whole installation, not to a single account. For an account to use a device, the device must be shared with it.

If exactly one account is connected, an empty sharing field fills in automatically with that account when you create a device. Once a second account is added, that automatic pre-fill no longer applies — you have to set the sharing for every device yourself. Without sharing, jobs sent to that device fail.

Note: You set sharing per device in the Freigegeben für (Shared with) field.

Log out an account

Logging out an account affects only that account. The other connected accounts keep running unchanged.

Logging out is different from resetting the entire installation. Logging out also removes the connected device in Offisy; resetting doesn't — it stays there until the account is logged out individually. For what resetting removes and what it keeps, see Settings.

Common issues

  • A job fails: The target device isn't shared with the sending account. Check the device's sharing setting.
  • A result gets discarded without a matching job: The delivering device is shared with multiple accounts, and Offisy Connect can't uniquely match the result to one of them. If one of the shared accounts has the device set as its Ziel für Laboranfragen, the result goes to that account instead — the ambiguity doesn't occur in that case.
  • A result gets discarded even though no account should be affected: The delivering device isn't shared with any account. Check the device's sharing setting.
  • A result doesn't show up in the customer record: The result contained neither measurements nor attachments. Offisy Connect discards such empty results.
