Offisy Connect Praxis
Required license
This feature requires the Offisy Connect add-on.
Offisy Connect is an app you install on a computer in your practice. It connects lab devices on your practice network to Offisy through GDT file exchange. The interface of Offisy Connect and the related areas in Offisy is German, so these articles use the German labels.
What is Offisy Connect used for?
A lab device in your practice, Offisy Connect on the practice computer, and Offisy in the browser work together:
- Send a lab request: You send a lab request from the customer record to a verbundenes Gerät (connected device) — that's the Offisy Connect installation. Which lab device actually receives it is determined in Offisy Connect by the Ziel für Laboranfragen (target for lab requests) setting.
- Pick up results: The device produces a result, Offisy Connect reads it and uploads it to Offisy. When the customer match is unambiguous, the result lands in the customer record automatically.
- Multiple devices and accounts: One installation can serve several lab devices and several accounts at the same time.
All connections to the cloud originate from the practice computer — your practice firewall doesn't need to open any port for this. If the internet connection drops, new jobs stay in the cloud until the computer is reachable again. Offisy Connect buffers already-produced results locally and delivers them once the connection is back.
