Install Offisy Connect Praxis

Install the Offisy Connect app on a computer in your practice. This guide walks you through installing it on the practice computer running Windows or macOS.

Requirements

• A computer running Windows 11 (64-bit) or macOS on Apple Silicon.
• The Offisy Connect add-on is included in your license.

How to do it

Install on Windows

1. Download the installer: OffisyConnect-setup.exe.

2. If Microsoft Edge shows the notice "OffisyConnect-setup.exe wird häufig nicht heruntergeladen" (isn't commonly downloaded), keep the file anyway:

   1. In the Downloads panel, hover over the entry and click the three-dot icon.
   2. Select Beibehalten (Keep).

3. In the Downloads panel, click Datei öffnen (Open file) under OffisyConnect-setup.exe.

4. Go through the setup wizard:

   1. On the welcome page, click Next >.

   2. On the Choose Install Location page, keep the suggested folder and click Next >.

   3. When the wizard shows Installation Complete, click Next >.

   4. On the last page, leave Run Offisy Connect selected and click Finish. Offisy Connect then starts on its own.

Later, you launch Offisy Connect from the Start menu. If Create desktop shortcut is selected, the wizard also adds a shortcut to your desktop.

If Offisy Connect is already installed, the wizard shows the Already Installed page instead of the welcome page. Leave Add/Reinstall components selected and click Next > to reinstall. If Offisy Connect is running, the wizard shows "Offisy Connect is running! Click OK to kill it". Click OK so it closes the app and continues the installation.

Offisy Connect installs for the signed-in Windows user only. You don't need administrator rights.

Install on macOS

1. Download the installer: OffisyConnect.dmg.
2. Open the downloaded DMG file.
3. Drag Offisy Connect to the Applications folder in the window that opens.
4. Launch Offisy Connect from the Applications folder.

After installation

Right after installation, Offisy Connect shows the Verbindung mit Offisy herstellen (Connect to Offisy) page. To learn how to connect it, see Connect Offisy Connect to Offisy.

To have Offisy Connect start on its own after the computer restarts, turn on Autostart beim Login (Autostart on login) under Einstellungen → Allgemein (Settings → General).

Offisy Connect can check for updates automatically. For details on update behavior and channels, see Settings.

Common issues

• The app launches but keeps showing the connection page: Offisy Connect isn't connected to Offisy yet. Follow Connect Offisy Connect to Offisy.
