What is the daily closing? Praxis Desk Kasse
The daily closing sums up the sales and payments of a period and outputs them as a PDF. You find it in the Journaling menu under Tagesabschluss (daily closing).
Definition
The daily closing is a report of your payments since the last closing. Offisy only stores the period, number, tenant, and creator. Offisy recalculates the figures every time you open it.
The page with all closings is described in View daily closings.
Period and number
Offisy sets the period and number automatically. You don't enter anything.
- Start: A closing starts where your company's last closing ends. If you have tenants (Mandanten), the last closing of the same tenant counts. If there is no closing yet, it starts on January 1 of the current year at 12:00 AM.
- End: The closing ends at the time you create it.
- Number: The number is the last number plus 1. It starts again at 1 in the new year. Each tenant has its own numbers.
This way the periods follow each other without gaps.
Which payments count
The daily closing includes invoices with cash-basis taxation (Ist-Besteuerung). An invoice counts if one of these happens in the period:
- You marked the invoice as paid.
- You recorded an incoming payment.
- A cash receipt exists.
If you have tenants, the closing only includes invoices of the selected tenant.
Recreated on every call
Offisy doesn't freeze the daily closing. Preview, print, and PDF are generated from the current data each time. If data in the period changes later, the output changes too.
What is the daily closing used for?
You see the total of your payments at a glance, broken down by tax rates, services, goods, and payment methods. If you output the closing as a PDF, you can file or print it.
You create the daily closing manually or have it created automatically. Automatic creation requires RKSV Premium or RKSV Unlimitiert, see Automatic receipts.
Difference from monthly and annual receipts and the cash book
- Monthly and annual receipts: These are RKSV receipts. Your cash register signs them, and they go to FinanzOnline. The daily closing is not an RKSV receipt. It carries no signature, and Offisy doesn't report it to FinanzOnline. More in Automatic receipts.
- Cash book: The cash book is a separate page. It is not part of the daily closing PDF.
Note: The daily closing doesn't change any invoices, receipts, or the cash book.
Note: You can't cancel, delete, or edit a daily closing in the interface.
