Setting up payment providers (Stripe) Desk

Connect Stripe to your account so customers can pay online with a credit or debit card in your webshop.

Where do I find payment providers?

Open the Payment provider connections page. It shows how many connections already exist and lists all of them.

The connection status of each connection refreshes automatically from the Stripe API when the page loads.

This feature requires the Payment providers add-on for Desk.

Requirements

• Permission to view and edit payment providers for the selected company.
• Your own Stripe account to complete the onboarding.

Adding a Stripe connection

1. On the Payment provider connections page, click Add payment provider.
2. Select Add Stripe from the dropdown.
3. You're redirected to Stripe automatically to complete the onboarding.
4. After the onboarding finishes, you return to the overview. The new connection appears in the list.

After onboarding, you can edit the connection to adjust its name and other details.

Editing a Stripe connection

1. Click Edit on the connection you want to change.
2. Enter a unique label in the Name field. This field is required.
3. Turn on the Test mode switch if the connection is only for testing.
4. Adjust the Checkout label for customers if needed. The default value is "Stripe (credit or debit card)".
5. Optionally add an internal note under Your note.
6. Select the relevant tenancies under Tenancy.
7. Click Save.

Activating or deactivating a Stripe connection

1. Click the switch next to Active or Deactivated on the connection you want to change.
2. Confirm the Activate payment provider connection or Deactivate payment provider connection dialog.

A deactivated connection is no longer available as a payment method in the webshop.

Deleting a Stripe connection

1. Click Delete on the connection you want to remove.
2. Confirm the Delete connection dialog.

Assigning the connection to your webshop

Adding a Stripe connection doesn't automatically enable it in your webshop. Open your webshop settings and switch to the Payment methods tab. Select the connection you want under Payment provider for credit / debit card payments.

Note: Payment providers are also used for invoicing. They're not limited to the webshop.
