Barcode & Scanner Praxis Kasse Desk
Use barcodes to print labels for your products, scan items directly into invoices, and automatically recognize weight or price barcodes.
Benötigte Lizenz
Printing barcode labels and the scanner during invoicing require the Handscanner module. Automatic recognition of weight and price barcodes additionally requires the GTIN module. Automatically creating books via ISBN/EAN requires the Book API module.
Create and print barcode labels
- Open the Products & Services section from the main menu.
- Click the dropdown menu next to Configure columns and select Barcode.
- The Download barcodes modal shows all products with an internal number or EAN on file. Select the products you want and set the number of labels per product.
- Click Configure labels to adjust the layout. The modal shows a live preview of the labels.
- Adjust the three tabs as needed:
- Print paper — paper format (A3, A4, A5, A6, or custom size in mm), page margins, and spacing between rows and columns
- Label — width, height, font size, and padding of the individual label
- Barcode — label content via placeholders
- Click Save to store the label settings for your company.
- In the Download barcodes modal, click Download PDF to generate the labels as a PDF.
The following placeholders are available for the label content:
| Placeholder | Meaning |
|---|---|
%WARENNAME% | Product name |
%WARENPREIS% | Product price |
%ARTIKELNUMMER% | Internal item number |
%WARENEANNUMMER% | EAN number |
%WARENBARCODE% | Barcode image |
If you leave the field empty, offisy defaults to name, price, barcode image, and EAN number stacked vertically.
Scan items into invoices
With the Handscanner module active, an input field with the placeholder EAN code appears above the position list in the invoice or receipt creation dialog.
- Open invoice or receipt creation.
- Scan the barcode with your handheld scanner, or type the code manually into the EAN code field.
- offisy looks up the matching product by its internal number and adds it as a position. The view scrolls automatically to the new position.
If offisy can't find a matching product, the message "Keinen Artikel gefunden." appears.
Scanner settings
Open Settings → Cash register/Invoice and go to the Barcode Scanner section. This section is only visible with the Handscanner module.
- Multiple scanning — decide what happens when you rescan a product already on the invoice. Increase position quantity raises the quantity of the existing position by 1. Create new position adds a new position each time instead.
- Play sound when scanning? — plays a success sound when an item is recognized, and a different error sound when no item is found.
Click Save to apply your selection.
Automatic product recognition
With the GTIN module, offisy automatically recognizes weight and price barcodes in the scanned code. This works when the code starts with 21 or 22 and matches exactly one product.
- If the code starts with 21, offisy reads the quantity from the code and applies it to the position. For units like kilograms, the quantity is converted accordingly.
- If the code starts with 22, offisy reads a fixed price from the code, which overrides the product's regular price for this position.
With the Book API module, offisy automatically creates new products when you scan a book by ISBN or EAN. This applies when no matching product exists locally. offisy queries an external book database and automatically fills in title, price, and tax rate. The newly created product is added directly as a position on the invoice.
