Text templates for medical documents Praxis Desk
Text templates are full template texts with placeholders for referral letters, patient letters, and evidence documents. You insert them with one click while creating a medical document.
Where do I find text templates?
Go to Settings > Advanced Settings. Scroll to the Medical Modules section and click Text Templates.
Note: Don't confuse Text Templates with Text Snippets or Document Templates. Text snippets are short, reusable text blocks with a shortcut. Text templates are full template texts with placeholders for referral letters, patient letters, and evidence documents. Document templates, on the other hand, automatically fill referrals and prescriptions with recipient, diagnosis, and services.
Requirements
Benötigte Lizenz
Text templates are part of the Praxis and Desk licenses. The Medical module must be active.
- You need the Textbausteine & Textvorlagen permission.
- Without an active module, the document form doesn't offer any text templates.
Data table
The Text Templates page shows all templates for your company with their name and usage. Each row's menu gives you Edit, Duplicate, and Delete.
Creating a new text template
- Click Create Text Template.
- Enter a name (up to 250 characters).
- Under Usage, choose at least one purpose: Doctor's Letter, Patient Letter, or one of the evidence types configured in your medical settings. The exact labels of these options can vary by company.
- Enter the template text in the text field (at least 2 characters).
- Click Save.
Editing a text template
Click the template's name in the data table, or open its row menu and select Edit. Update the fields and click Save.
Duplicating a text template
Open the template's row menu and select Duplicate. Offisy creates a new template with the same field values. Adjust the name and text, then click Save.
Deleting a text template
Open the template's row menu and select Delete.
Inserting patient record entries into a template
In addition to placeholders, a text template can automatically insert data from the patient record — for example diagnoses, prescriptions, current medication, lab and external results, appointments, well-child checkup entries, or values you've configured for the customer record.
Such entries follow this structure in the template text:
{{#if Anamnese}}
<h1>Anamnese</h1>
{{{Anamnese}}}
{{/if}}{{#if …}} … {{/if}}only shows the block if data is available for it.{{{…}}}inserts the content including formatting.
Setting up such entries in a template is technically demanding. Contact Offisy Support if you want to create or adjust a template with patient record entries.
Inserting a text template into a document
- Create a medical document in the patient record.
- Search the Templates section for the text template you want.
- Click the template. Offisy inserts the text into the document and automatically replaces any placeholders.
Offisy replaces the following placeholders when inserting a template, using the current patient's data:
| Placeholder | Replaced with |
|---|---|
{ANREDE} | Salutation |
{PATIENTENNAME} | Full name |
{TITEL} | Title |
{VORNAME} | First name |
{NACHNAME} | Last name |
{DATUM} | Today's date (DD.MM.YYYY) |
{GEBURTSDATUM} | Date of birth |
{SVN} | Social security number |
{ADRESSE} | Postal code, city, and street |
{PLZ} | Postal code |
{ORT} | City |
{STRASSE} | Street |
If Offisy can't read the placeholders in a template, the template stays in the list and remains usable. It's then marked with the Platzhalter nicht ersetzt notice. The template text is inserted unchanged, so the placeholders stay in the document.
This mostly happens with templates carried over from another software. Offisy only supports the placeholders above and the patient record entries described in the previous section for text templates. Update any affected templates to use Offisy placeholders.
