Managing diagnoses Praxis
In the diagnosis settings, you choose the ICD catalog, create custom diagnoses, and mark favorites. These diagnoses are then available to select while documenting.
Where do I find diagnoses?
Go to Settings → Medical → Diagnoses. The page shows two sections:
- Custom diagnoses — diagnoses you created yourself. Only here can you edit or delete entries.
- ICD diagnoses — the entries from your active ICD catalog(s). This section is read-only.
Requirements
- The Medical module is included in your license.
Selecting an ICD catalog
- In the "ICD diagnoses" section, click Select catalog.
- Enable one or more ICD catalogs.
- Click Save.
Only entries from the active catalogs show up in the "ICD diagnoses" section afterward — and only those are available while documenting.
Finding diagnoses
In both sections, you can search and sort the table.
While documenting, use the "Search by ICD or label" field in the medical document. It searches your custom diagnoses and the catalog diagnoses together. Click + on a result to add it.
Note: If you can't find a diagnosis you used before, it's probably no longer part of an active catalog. offisy shows a warning in that case.
Setting favorites
Every row — for custom diagnoses and catalog diagnoses alike — has a favorites menu with three levels:
- No favorite
- For me — the diagnosis is marked as a favorite only for you.
- For all users — the diagnosis is marked as a favorite company-wide.
Favorites appear first in the search while documenting.
Note: You need the permission to create diagnoses to set favorites.
Adding a custom diagnosis
- Click Create in the top right.
- Fill in the fields in the "ICD diagnosis" section (see table below).
- Click Save.
| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
| Primary key | Required |
| Label | Required |
| Asterisk key number | |
| Additional key number | |
| Second primary key |
Editing and deleting a custom diagnosis
You can only edit or delete custom diagnoses — catalog diagnoses are read-only.
- In the "Custom diagnoses" section, click the action menu in the desired row.
- Select Edit or Delete.
- When editing: update the fields and click Save.
SNOMED CT via the e-Health coding service
Benötigte Lizenz
This section is only available if the e-Health Coding Service module is included in your license.
When you create or edit a custom diagnosis, the form also shows the e-Health Coding Service section. Use it to search directly in the official Austrian e-Health coding service (episode-based) for the matching diagnosis.
- Enter at least 3 characters in the search field — you can search by SNOMED label, Orphanet code, or ICD-10 code.
- Click the matching result in the results list.
- If a result includes several ICD-10 codes, offisy expands the selection. Choose the correct ICD-10 code from the list.
offisy then automatically fills in:
- Primary key and Label in the "ICD diagnosis" section
- SNOMED CT Code and SNOMED CT Label in the "SNOMED CT" section
Note: You can edit the applied values manually at any time afterward — including the SNOMED CT Code and SNOMED CT Label fields.
Requirements for the coding service
- The e-Health Coding Service module is enabled in your license.
- You need the SNOMED CT Codierservice (Anzeigen) permission. Owners and staff with settings permissions have it by default.
Common issues
The "e-Health Coding Service" section doesn't show up. The e-Health Coding Service module isn't included in your license, or you're missing the SNOMED CT Codierservice permission.
The search returns no results. The search only starts once you enter 3 characters. Also check the spelling — the search matches the official terms from the e-Health coding service, not your own short labels.
A diagnosis is missing from the list or the documenting search. Check whether the matching ICD catalog is active. Enable it via Select catalog in the "ICD diagnoses" section.
