Create and Submit a DVP Billing Submission Praxis Desk
Group your DVP forms into a billing submission and transmit it electronically to the insurance carrier.
Requirements
- At least one DVP form with status Open exists.
- You have the DVP Create and DVP Upload permissions.
- Either your O-Card (practice card) is valid, or you have a DVP contract partner set up. At least one of these is required.
How to do it
Create a billing submission
- Open Journaling → DVP Billing.
- Click Create billing submission.
- Fill in the form:
- Insurance carrier: Select the carrier you are billing (e.g. ÖGK).
- O-Card (Praxis customers with e-card): Select the O-Card you use to sign the submission. As a Desk customer (without e-card), select a DVP contract partner instead — the field appears as an alternative to the O-Card.
- Specialty: Select the specialty being billed.
- Location: Select the practice location. This field is only required when using an O-Card.
- Billing period: Set the month or quarter and year.
- The matching DVP forms are automatically filtered and displayed in the list. Forms with validation errors are marked — correct these before submitting.
- Check the desired forms. You can select all at once or deselect individual forms.
- Click OK — the billing submission is created.
Submit the billing submission
- The billing submission appears in the overview under DVP Billing.
- Click the Upload button next to the submission.
- offisy transmits the DVP file via ELDA to the insurance carrier.
Track status
After submission, you see the current status in the overview:

|---|---|---|
| Not transmitted | gray | The submission has not been uploaded yet. |
| Uploading | yellow | Transmission is currently in progress. |
| Accepted | green | The submission was successfully accepted by the insurance carrier. |
| Rejected | red | The transmission failed. Check the error details. |
Download the DVP file
You can also download the generated DVP file manually — for example for review or your own records. Click the Download button next to the billing submission.
Common errors
- No forms available: Check that the billing period and insurance carrier are selected correctly. Forms must have the status Open.
- Status "Rejected": Open the billing submission and check the error details. Common causes are incorrect diagnoses or an invalid VPNR.
- Upload button not visible: You need the DVP Upload permission. Contact your administrator.
