Billing Services – Journaling Praxis

Journaling shows you a cross-patient list of all recorded billing services for a selected time period. At a glance you can see which services were performed when, for which patient, and with what billing status.

Where do I find Journaling?

Prerequisites

  • You have the Billing Services: Journaling permission in your user profile.

Filters

The following filters are available at the top of the page:

Time period:

  • Date range freely selectable, with presets (e.g. current month, last month)
  • Default on opening: current month

Account:

  • Only visible with an active cooperation feature
  • Filters by practice/account (when you manage multiple practices)

Status:

  • Open — services not yet billed
  • Billed — services already included in a fee note
  • Ignored — services marked as non-billable

Provider:

  • Filters by the user who recorded the service

Name:

  • Text search by service name

Client:

  • Only visible with the multi-client module enabled

Data table

Columns are configurable (see Column configuration). The following columns are available:

Service group:

Row actions

Depending on status and permissions, the following actions are available in the action menu of a row:

  • Edit — opens the service for editing (only for status Open or Ignored)
  • Activate billing — resets status to Open (only for status Ignored)
  • Do not bill — sets status to Ignored (only for status Open)
  • Delete — removes the service (only for status Open or Ignored, permission required)

Note: Billed services (status Billed) can neither be edited nor deleted.

Statistics

Below the table, a summary shows the gross and net amount of all filtered entries.

Column configuration

You can choose which columns are shown in the table:

  1. Click Options in the top right.
  2. Select Column Configuration.
  3. Enable or disable the desired columns.
  4. Click Save.

The configuration is saved per user and persists the next time you open the page.

Export

With the appropriate permission (Billing Services: Export) you can export the filtered list as an Excel file. The export button is in the table header.
