Manage Magistral Preparations Praxis

Magistral preparations are individual compounded formulations you define for your practice. You manage them centrally in Settings and then use them as line items on a prescription.

This feature requires the Magistral Preparation add-on for Praxis.

Where do I find Magistral Preparations?

Open Settings → Medical → Magistral Preparations. The page shows a card list grouped by category. Use the Categories button to navigate to Magistral Preparation Categories.

Prerequisites

• You are logged in as an administrator or with the appropriate permission.
• The Magistral Preparation add-on is activated in your license.

Create a magistral preparation

1. Click Create.
2. The Create Magistral Preparation modal opens.
3. In the General tab, fill in the fields:
   • Name
   • Category (dropdown, "No selection" is an option)
   • Administration description / Signature (e.g. as needed)
4. Switch to the Settings tab.
5. Click Add line item and enter the components. The table has the columns Name, Quantity, and Unit.
6. Click Save.

Edit a magistral preparation

1. Open the context menu of the preparation and select Edit.
2. The Edit Magistral Preparation modal opens.
3. Change the name, category, signature, or components.
4. Click Save.

Duplicate a magistral preparation

1. Open the context menu of the preparation and select Duplicate.
2. A copy of the preparation appears in the list.
3. Edit the copy via Edit.

Delete a magistral preparation

1. Open the context menu of the preparation.
2. Select Delete and confirm the action.

Note: Check whether the preparation has already been used on prescriptions before deleting it.
