Manage Magistral Preparation Categories Praxis

Here you manage the categories for grouping your magistral preparations. These categories are purely organizational. Don't confuse them with medication categories, which bundle medications and preparations for a prescription.

This feature requires the Magistral Preparation add-on for Praxis.

Where do I find Magistral Preparation Categories?

Open Settings → Medical → Magistral Preparations and click the Categories button. The page is called Magistral Preparations: Categories and shows a sortable card list. There is no dedicated menu entry for this area.

Prerequisites

• You are logged in as an administrator or with the appropriate permission.
• The Magistral Preparation add-on is included in your license.

Create a category

1. Click Add Category.
2. The Create Category modal opens.
3. Fill in the fields:
   • Name
   • Color
4. Click Save.

The new category appears immediately in the card list and is available for selection in the preparation form.

Edit a category

1. Click Edit on the category card.
2. The Edit Magistral Preparation Category modal opens.
3. Change the name or color.
4. Click Save.

Note: Preparations already assigned to this category automatically keep the updated category name.

Delete a category

1. Click the delete icon on the category card.
2. Confirm the prompt.

Warning: Reassign all preparations to another category before deleting this one.

Assign a magistral preparation to a category

You assign a category directly in the preparation form — not in the category settings.

1. Open Settings → Medical → Magistral Preparations.
2. Select an existing preparation or create a new one.
3. In the General tab, select the desired category from the Category field.
4. Click Save.
