What are Individual Services? Praxis Desk
Individual services are the bookable services of your practice or studio. You define what you offer, how long it takes, and what it costs.
Definition
Every individual service has a name, a service duration, and a price. Optionally you assign it to a category, link resources and consumables, and release it for the online booking calendar.
When an appointment is booked — in the calendar or through the online booking calendar — you select an individual service. That determines what is performed and billed for the appointment.
What are individual services used for?
- Offer services: You define what patients and clients can book with you.
- Control time: The service duration is the actual treatment time. Preparation time and follow-up time are added as buffers. From all three values offisy calculates the total duration that the appointment occupies in the calendar.
- Set prices: You enter either the net or the gross price plus the tax rate. offisy calculates the other value.
- Assign employees and locations: You define per combination of employee and location where the service is performed.
- Assign categories: You group services for a better overview.
- Track consumables: You link materials to a service to track consumption.
Billing
Every appointment with an individual service has a billing status. You can see it under Journaling → Appointments in the Billing column.
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Open | Not yet billed |
| Billed | Included in an invoice or fee note |
| Ignored | Deliberately excluded from billing |
Note: The action in the appointment menu is called Do not bill, while the resulting status is Ignored. Enable billing sets the appointment back to Open.
If a service should never be billed, switch on Disable billing in the General tab when you create it.
Difference from other service types
- Group services and courses are meant for several people at once. An individual service always covers one appointment with one person.
- Billing services are the medical service master data used for patient treatment and invoices. Individual services control what gets booked in the calendar.
- Goods are materials and products. They are assigned to an individual service as consumables, but are not bookable themselves.
